SYNOPSIS

Internal courtyard of a suburban apartment complex. The last cold weather and the first buds of spring are perceived. Sweet aromas and blossoming of trees and gardens. There are still traces of winter in the surroundings of the monoblock. The patio is modest, but it does not show poverty, only simplicity. The apartments, around it, are sober but with a certain flirtatiousness in their care, picturesque, indicative of the personality of their inhabitants. Small pots with flowers and plants, light-colored curtains, stairs through which a hint of vines appears, a bucolic and serene corner. Victoria arrives from the street. It's cold. She looks tired. She goes up the stairs that lead her to her apartment. It begins to dawn.

SEPTEMBER

A Musical to Fall in Love

Victory
One night, one morning, another dawn.
Winter that dies, something to be born.
Another morning of sleep and a slow awakening.
This is what I have and what I have to embrace
Not expecting anything more is to stop regretting
that what one day we dream cannot be true.

> Octavio opens the curtain of his apartment. He just woke up.
He leans out the window and stares into the distance.

Octavian
One night, one morning, another dawn.
Winter that dies, something to be born.
A sincere love, simple and morning
feel that you look at me, I do not want anything else.

> Azul opens the curtain to her apartment. She drinks a very hot coffee and is wrapped in a vaporous deshabilé of feathers and embroidery. Sitting on a chair with decorative blankets and bright colors, she looks out the window towards the street and remains distracted on the horizon.

Blue
One night, one morning, another dawn.
Winter that dies, something to be born.
Dreaming costs nothing and my life is dreaming
and I am who I want to be with nothing to lose...or gain.

> Gregorio enters, expeditious but poised, carrying his luggage. Madelaine follows him, sober but splendidly dressed. The other characters are busy in their particular actions within their departments.

Madelaine: Is it here?
Gregorio: It's here (he takes a pillbox out of his pocket and hands it to Madelaine). your medicine.
Madelaine: Leave that there Gregorio, I don't want anything (Gregorio hesitates and remains with his arm semi-extended). Let me breathe.

> Madelaine lights a cigarette. Lose your gaze on the horizon. Gregorio takes the suitcases to another sector.

Gregory
One night, one morning, another port.
A trip opens doors and another oblivion must be embraced
The distance grows and there is no one to find.

Madeline
And it's yesterday that it was January and September is already today
Once, teenager, I felt it like love
But today is different, September has a different ending color
When the years go by and there is less to tell.

Madelaine: Which one is our room?
Gregorio: There, but...it's an apartment. This is not a hotel.
Madelaine: I guess there are no maids either.

Gregory: It's not so bad...
Madelaine: Don't try to sugarcoat it.

> Madelaine and Gregorio enter the apartment. Victoria goes to close the windows and finds Azul who has gone down to the patio and is looking for her cats to feed them.

Victoria: Blue? Are the cats back?
Azul: There are already three... and one comes with a gift (she makes the gesture of a pregnant belly).
Victoria: And when do you think that...?
Blue: Listen! They are there!
Victoria: They were born!
Blue: The same day in September that my father died...

Victory:
Born in September, die in spring
dream of love, break dry leaves
green and sweet aromas, these are days of songs
September is the month in which I am going to get excited.

Blue
September is warm and sweet melancholy
lazy lukewarmness and loves of a day
But in me it could be suddenly an awakening.
September is the month I'm going to confess it.

Octavian: Good morning.
Blue: Octavian! Are you going to work already? So early?
Octavio: Hey!...it's life, isn't it?
Blue: I love to see how the mornings light up in this patio, especially now that the air feels like the caress of orange blossom.
Octavio: You should be a poet.
Blue: That's what you're for.

Octavian
I am a simple man who lives on illusions
and always releases them as fruit in spring
September sounds like music to fall in love
September is the month I'm going to find her.

Madeline
I barely arrived and I already have to go further
I have a past that I will recover
September is going back
September is the month in which I will return.

Gregory
You have to lose to win
maybe I recognize that I can walk a lot.
September is the month when I can be free.
September is the month I'm going to break out.

SEPTEMBER

A musical to fall in love

Victory
A night, a morning, another dawn.
Dying winter, something to be born.
Another sleep morning and a sparing wake up.
This what I have and embrace it I must.
Not waiting for anything else is stopping the regret.
That what one day we dreamt cannot be true.

> Octavio opens his apartment curtain. I just woke up. He peeps through the window and remains staring far away.

A night, a morning, another dawn.
Dying winter, something to be born.
A sincere simple and morning love
Feel that you look at me, that's all I want.
